How do you use it?

Open the drain cock and allow the oil to drain into the filter.

Lift the back of the pump to empty it completely.

Wait for the oil to filter through your filtration system.

With each cycle, a little water accumulates
in oil.

Once filtered, the water settles to the bottom and the oil remains on the surface.

Pour the oil into
eliminating water.

Never pour water into the pump: it could damage it.

Pour in the filtered oil
(or new) in your vacuum pump.

How do I know if my filtered oil is fit for use?

- The oil is free of debris or particles

- The oil is neither milky nor chalky

- The oil is clear (the colour can be yellow or amber but still be clear).

- Your vacuum pump reaches a pressure (mTorr) suitable for freeze-drying.

How do I know when I need to replace my oil filter?

- Oil does not flow through the filter (this can happen over time as debris accumulates).

- The oil doesn't clean properly (i.e. the oil continues to be milky or full of debris)
